Stop using the word ‘Healing’

We do not do ourselves any favours when we talk about personal ‘healing’.

What does that mean?

It means we believe that there is something wrong with us.

That is so aggressive to ourselves

That is so destructive to ourselves

Lets aim for ‘acceptance’ and realise we dont need healing because there is nothing about us that is wrong or broken

Living in the now

Everywhere I look, they say ‘live in the now’

but nowhere does it explain exactly ‘HOW’

There are simple questions to ask yourself that can help train you, to ‘live in the now’

Throughout the day try to remember this little exercise and try it as often as you remember.  In time, it will become a natural, habitual way of thinking.

* Stop and observe your thoughts…..

* Ask yourself  “Is this thought about something that happened in the past?”  Be it a minute ago, or a year ago.

* Ask yourself “Is this thought about something in the future?”  Be is about tomorrow or many years from now.

* If the answer to either of these questions is yes – then identify that it is not ‘in the now’ and practise letting those thoughts go.

Remember that you can’t change past and the future is yet to be discovered.

So take a look around you and using all of your physical senses – sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch, bring your attention back to this ‘moment’.

What can I see?

What can I hear?

What can I feel on my skin?

What can I taste?

What can I smell?

With practise you will get better at ‘living in the present moment’

Name change……

I didn’t think I would give in to mass ‘fear’, but sadly, the time has come to make a little name change.

Unforunately, I have received negative feedback and thought it best to make a little change.  I will now be known as Lunar Wolf Harmony.  Please be patient as I make the change across my social media.

Count down to my Retreat

There are still some spots available.  Email me at lonewolfharmony@gmail.com to secure your place.

I have called this Retreat “Where psychology and spirituality walk hand in hand” because my personal experience has been, that psychology (understanding the behaviour of ourselves and those around us) can be the KEY to unlock our spirituality…. AND indeed the other way round. Spirituality can be the KEY to unlock and understand ourselves and those around us (psychology).

By spirituality, I don’t mean religion…. Spirituality is our own personal journey, “with” and “to” OURSELVES.

Click here for more details on my Retreat.

If you can’t make it to Kings Creek Retreat, Krambach this weekend to join us, I will be adapting the weekend for an online course.  This will be available early November.  Keep an eye out or drop me a line if you are interested.

Count down to the Retreat

In the weeks leading up to my Retreat, at Kings Creek Retreat, Krambach on the weekend of 14th October, 2016, I would like to introduce you to our guests.

Meet Helen.  Helen is holding a Yoga session on the Saturday afternoon.  She wishes to share a little about herself.

If, like many of us, you are sometimes aware of stiff muscles, anxious thoughts and a general feeling of unease, then I believe you will enjoy my program.

After being a teacher in schools and university for over 40 years, I am retired now in Forster where I have been teaching yoga for the past five years. I have practiced yoga for over 12 years and have completed a Certificate in Yoga Teaching and am currently studying a Diploma in Yoga Teaching.

After a major illness that led to my retirement, I was fortunate to discover yoga. My own experience has taught me that yoga can help us not only to move more freely but also to start to change some old habits that we might be finding are no longer helpful. As our bodies become more flexible, our mind also starts to be able to imagine different ways of responding to situations and people that we might find difficult.

In my session, you can learn some movement and meditation practices that can assist you to enter a deep level of relaxation of mind and body:

– gentle stretching (yoga asanas), building flexibility and strength,
– relaxation and breathing practices as well as
– Tibetan Yoga (Kum Nye) and meditation.

The gentle movement, relaxation and meditation gently allow physical and mental blockages to release. The Kum Nye practices in particular help our over-active mind to slow down, creating space to allow us to get in touch with our body and our deeper needs – those aspects of ourselves that we so often ignore in the rush of everyday life. We can experience the benefits of living in the present.
You can come to understand that through making some simple changes, you can gain enhanced physical and mental well-being and a sense of managing your life.

With regular practice, your body becomes stronger and more flexible through the physical practices and your mind becomes more resilient and able to cope with everyday demands in a way that is at once gentle and strong.

I look forward to meeting you at the retreat and sharing ways you can begin to find joy and nourishment through being deeply in touch with yourself in every moment.

The gift of time

The gift of time

I saw no beginning and no end

My time was all that I had to give

And my days are filled unexpectedly

With laughter and joy

Combined with a sense of wonder

I still see no beginning and no end

I have only my time to give

And I give it freely with love and compassion

Tips for living with lies

I have posted a couple of articles about the impact of people within our circle telling lies.

We know that we can’t change other people’s behaviour

We know that honesty and trust is important to us

Do we discard the friendship or relationship because of the lies?

Nearly 95% of people will say yes… But it might be your child that is telling you lies

So what do you do?

Here are a couple of little tips

  1. Ask yourself… Is there evil intent in the lie?
  2. Ask yourself …Does that lie threaten me, or harm me?
  3. If the answer to the above questions are “No”, then let the lie pass you by. Don’t give it any power.
  4. Last tip…. It has long been accepted that you ‘shouldn’t check up on others’.  However if you need to check up on someone who is lying to you, DON’T feel guilty.  As long as your intention is only for your own sense of safety and your own peace of mind.  Ask around, check if she is at the parent teacher meeting when she said she would be, or that your son really is having a sleepover at his mates.  DON’T let it become an obsession and DON’T use it as a power tool or control method over others. Just do it for your own peace of mind.  Over time, it will help you to answer the first two questions with clarity and make ‘living with a liar’ possible and peaceful for you.  Trust in yourself and it doesn’t matter about trust in others.
